This mission-critical project involved the construction of a new building, a satellite uplink facility, and the renovation of an existing office and technical building on an approximately four-acre site. The renovation embraces the architectural features of the new building, bringing elements from the new to the existing and linking the two via a covered, elevated walkway and a bridge. The connecting structure contains wire-ways for the required technical connectivity between the two facilities as well as a safe path for personnel during a hurricane. The new building’s design and construction ensure 99.999% reliability. Redundant systems and infrastructure are capable of surviving category 5 hurricanes.
